Meditation is beneficial for the mind and body, it reduces stress, improves sleep, lowers blood pressure, plus it brings you into contact with yourself. Meditation is a process, it is a practice to still the mind, but before the mind can be still it needs to practice being focussed. Listening and practicing the meditations on my site will help you to gain this focus, practicing the meditations regularly, preferably every day, will soon bring noticeable results.
Try to practice at the same time each day, and preferably in the same place- try to make the place favourable for the practice (no clutter, add some spiritual pictures etc). Sitting with legs crossed is preferable, but only if you can sit comfortably like that for 10-15 mins, sitting on a chair, or with the back against a wall is ok.
When using the meditations from my site try to stay with the same one for a while, gain as much as you can from the meditation before moving onto the next one.
Be compassionate with yourself, the process of calming the mind can be difficult, it can vary from day to day, be aware of how each session has gone, and persevere with kindness to yourself.
