Whalley Abbey

This is subject to restrictions/guidlines.

My Yoga Retreat will be located at this 4 star retreat centre within stunning surroundings. The weekend consists of yoga sessions each day (one on Friday, three on Sat and two on Sunday)), relaxation, meditation and giving/receiving Indian head massage treatments in the evenings, or other relaxation techniques allowing for social distancing. During the Saturday we will be doing a Mindfulness workshop, a walk (including some time in silence) and a yoga cleansing technique preactice (optional ). On the Sunday following the morning yoga session we will do a meditation/walking meditation, and before the Sunday lunch enjoy pair yoga (or wall yoga) and laughter yoga (optional). I direct my yoga practices around chakra work and mindfulness.

The cost is £365 (paid 1 month before). If you have been to one of my retreats before there is a discounted price of £320. A non-refundable deposit of £50 is needed to confirm your place. All meals from Friday evening through to lunch on Sunday are included. I am a Bowen Technique practitioner and can also offer Bowen therapy over the weekend (at extra cost).

Wherever possible we will practice yoga outside in the grounds, the retreat centre is beautiful. The room we can use for yoga and relaxation is warm, light and with tall ceilings. The meals will be vegetarian, and any dietary requirements can be catered for.

Single/double/twin on-suite rooms are available. Reduced fee available for non yoga partners sharing a room who are welcome to join in on the walks.

Whalley Abbey is a former Cistercian Abbey, after the dissolution of the monasteries the abbey was largely demolished and a country house was built on the site. It was modified in the 20th century and is now the Retreat and Conference House which together with the Abbey ruins, are now owned by the Diocese of Blackburn who under took extensive internal modernisation of the house in 2005. It has 4 star accomodation and large grounds to enjoy.

I aim to do 2 yoga holidays each year here.

2022 dates are the 20th - 22nd May & 12th-14th August
